Seems like an advertisement. There are plenty of men still in Lowell (I know some of them) who are working class guys who dig Kerouac's books and can read from them with his accent and intonations. I'd rather have heard that.
I would love to get my hands on one of Jacks Typewriter manuscript rolls... A "serious" film about Jack is long overdue - can´t wait.

I have seen this film, and admit to utter disappointment. (Luckily it was a fred ticket - thank you, Planet Books.)The music is awful and intrusive (the mix was too high) and the interviews with notables and strangers amount to nothing. The footage of Big Sur is pleasant for people like myself who will never see it live, and the readings from the text were not so bad. It is often good to hear JK read as his quirky punctuation is then hidden and his lurical gifts stand out (particulalry his 'jazz rhythms', as they have long been designated). It would have been a successfull bit of TV art show programming if it was trimmed by at least half and the music was replaced with music more suited to the style and era.
